Derby Daze Adult Clinic by RCR All-Stars

Join the Wheels of Justice and Axles of Annihilation for a special December edition of Derby Daze!

One weekend. 6 exclusive sessions coached by some of the best roller derby players in the world, followed by scrimmage time where you’ll implement what you learned, skating with and receiving feedback from your Rose City All-Star coaches.

Join us for Saturday, Sunday or both – topics and coaches won’t be repeated so you’ll learn different skills and strategies to level up your game on each day.

Our coaches for Saturday will include WOJ Jammers Zip and Springroll, along with WOJ Blockers Simonis and Morgan Levy

Our coaches for Sunday will include WOJ Jammers Bonnie Thunders and Lil’ Regulateher, along with WOJ Blockers Gal and OMG WTF.

Assistant coaches will include WOJ and AOA skaters Big Bang Fury, Brute, Darko, Des, Freddie, Gaffney, Habanero Romero, Jackpot, Koda and Oona Roll!

SATURDAY Event schedule:

2-2:30: Arrive, pay for parking, check in and gear up
2:30-2:45: On skates warm up
2:45-3:35: Sesson 1 with Simonis: Two Walls to Rule Them All
3:35-3:45: 10 minute break
3:45-4:35: Session 2 with Zip & Springroll: A TBD Jamming Topic 😉 
4:35-4:45: 10 minute break
4:45-5:35: Session 3 with Morgan Levy: 2+2=SCORE: Strong offensive starts to control the game
5:35-5:45: 10 minute break
5:45-7:00: Scrimmage with your WOJ/AOA coaches

SUNDAY Event schedule: 

9:30-10: Arrive, pay for parking, check in and gear up
10-10:10: On skates warm up
10:10-11: Session 5 with Bonnie Thunders and Lil’ RegulateHer: La Cucaracha: Jammer techniques to create space where space doesn’t exist
11-11:10: 10 minute break
11:10-12: Session 6 with Gal: Third Degree Burn: Sizzling 3-step combos to spice up your 1v1 blocking
12-12:10: 10 minute break
12:10-1: Session 7 with OMG WTF: Mindmeld: The offense to jammer connection
1-1:10: 10 minute break
1:10-2: Scrimmage with your WOJ/AOA coaches

Participant Criteria:

• Open to and inclusive of all genders
• Adults 18+
• Comfortable with full contact/have scrimmaged or bouted  
• Skaters must have WFTDA, USARS, CRDA, MRDA or equivalent insurance for non-US skaters.

We are offering three price points for you to pay what you can on a sliding scale:

SINGLE DAY PASSES:

• $75: DISCOUNT registration for those who need a helping hand
• $85: REGULAR PRICE
• $95: SUPPORTER to help cover another skater’s discount
• $35: OFF SKATES OBSERVER (perfect for coaches or injured skaters)

TWO DAY WEEKEND PASSES:

• $150: WEEKEND DISCOUNT SKATER
• $60: OFF SKATES WEEKEND OBSERVER (perfect for coaches or injured skaters)

Full refunds available if requested prior to December 1 at 5pm PT. Registrations are transferrable to another skater at any time up until the clinic starts.

What to Bring: 

• Skates, gear, and a mouthguard
• Black and white shirts for scrimmage
• Armbands or a sharpie for scrimmage
• Wheels appropriate for skate court (most skaters find it quite grippy and use hard wheels between 92-97A)
• A refillable water bottle or two (you will be able to refill water bottles in the hangar)
• Quick, easily digestible snacks for break times
• Any medical necessities
• A notepad and a pen or phone, if you’d like to take notes
• Your best focused and productive attitude!

On the Day:

Doors open 30 minutes before the clinic starts, but another practice will be happening so please be considerate. Please pay for parking by going to one of the pay boxes or following instructions posted inside the hangar.
