She/Her

What do you do when you’re not at the hangar?
For work I am an archaeologist and GIS specialist. Other than that I love hanging out with my husband and our dogs.

What is the story behind your derby name and number?
I love Victorian detective novels because I’m  a huge nerd, so when I thought of this name, it just felt right. My number was 221B back when letters were allowed, which is Sherlock Holmes’ address on Baker Street.

What was your biggest challenge as a new skater and how did you overcome it?
I wasn’t super skilled when I was drafted and immediately before my first season a bunch of veteran skaters retired or went Travel Team only. We also had injuries that took people out for the whole season. I had no business being on a roster that season, but we didn’t have enough people so I skated in several games. It was so hard to not be able to contribute much on the track and I felt like I wasn’t earning the trust that the team had placed in me when they drafted me. I spent the off season between my first and second seasons working non-stop to get better and I improved a ton.

What position do you play? What do you enjoy the most about your position?
I am a blocker. My favorite thing is when I can tell someone targets me in the wall because I’m small and I look like an easy target. It’s super satisfying to be able to defy their expectations and stop them.

What are your goals for the season?
I want GNR to win champs this year.
