Junior Day Camp: Winter Skate Party 12/26

Looking for a fun, flexible option for your kids on non-school days? Drop them off at the RCR Hangar, where they can skate, create, and have fun while you go off to work!

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • Skating Fun: Your child will enjoy plenty of open skate time, with some instruction tied to fun songs—like learning moves to match the lyrics!
  • Creative Breaks: When it’s time for a skating break, they’ll have access to independent arts and crafts activities.
  • Video Project: Campers will collaborate to create a video they can share with friends and family!

How the Skate Parity is Different:

Unlike RCR’s week-long derby camps that focus on roller derby skill building, the Junior Day Camp: Skate Party is all about having fun! Kids can skate as much or as little as they want and enjoy activities tailored to their energy levels.

PRICING

FOOD

  • Snacks provided.
  • Please pack a sack lunch for your skater.

WHAT TO BRING

  • Sack Lunch – Please pack a lunch for your skater.
  • Skates, Pads, Helmet – Don’t have your own gear? No problem! Our gear lending library has you covered, and loaners are included in your registration. Just make sure to fill out the gear section within the waiver. If you have your own gear, even better! Quads only please, no inline skates. Our skate sizes range from Youth 1 to Men’s 14. No toddler sizes are available.
  • Mouthguard – Mouthguards are required. You can purchase one from us as part of registration or bring your own. We recommend Sisu mouthguards, which are moldable and comfortable—especially for skaters with braces or sensory sensitivities. If your skater has significant sensory sensitivities, we suggest trying out the mouthguard at home first. If it’s something they cannot wear for long periods, this event may not be suitable for them.
  • Layers of Clothing – The hangar is lightly heated, so make sure your skater is comfortable in varying temperatures.
  • Water Bottle – Hydration is important, so bring a refillable water bottle.
  • Running Shoes – For off-skate activities and comfort during breaks.
  • Dress Up or Get Silly! – We encourage skaters to dress up in fun or silly outfits if they’d like!
  • Personal Comfort Items – Skating all day is tough, so bring anything that helps your skater stay comfortable and entertained during breaks. We’ll have crafts available, but feel free to bring a book, their own craft, or something else they enjoy.

Please Note: Our lost and found tends to fill up quickly after camp days. Only bring items your skater can keep track of.

CANCELLATION POLICY

  • Cancellations made 3 or more days before the event: Full refund or option to transfer the registration to a future event. Registrations can also be transferred to another skater.
  • Cancellations made less than 3 days before the event: No refund, but transfer to a future event or a different skater may be available if space allows.

WEATHER RELATED CANCELLATIONS

In the event of a cancellation due to unsafe weather conditions or other unforeseen circumstances:

  • Notification: We will notify all registered participants via email as soon as a decision is made.
  • Reschedule: If possible, we will reschedule the event.
  • Refund: If the rescheduled future event is not an option for you, you may request a full refund.

Note: We aim to make cancellation decisions as early as possible to give families time to adjust plans.
