Come celebrate with the Rose City Rollers and experience the electrified, funky fun as we skate in the CareOregon Starlight Parade! One of the Rose Festival’s most popular events, the Starlight Parade offers a unique blend of traditional marching bands, flood-lit floats, glow-in-the-dark umbrellas, and creative hand-built entries. This event showcases the vibrant and diverse community groups from Portland and the surrounding Pacific Northwest region, creating an atmosphere like no other on Portland’s downtown streets.
The Starlight Parade continues a longstanding festival tradition from the early 1900s, when illuminated floats built on electric trolley cars made their way through the city on trolley tracks. Today, the parade features approximately 100 illuminated entries, drawing hundreds of thousands of spectators to downtown Portland. It’s a spectacular display of light and creativity that you won’t want to miss!
The Starlight Parade travels through downtown Portland and ends at Lincoln High School. Join us along the route for an unforgettable evening of illuminated entertainment.
