Rose City Sweeps Playoffs, Enters World Champs as a First Seed
The Wheels of Justice have home court advantage and a first round bye at Champs Nov 4-6 in Portland
Portland, OR (September 12, 2016): The current 2015 WFTDA World Champions, Rose City’s Wheels of Justice, have taken first place in the WFTDA Playoffs in Columbia, SC, thereby securing a first-seed position at the upcoming World Championships in Portland, November 4-6. From here, Rose City and the Wheels of Justice will prepare to host and skate in the 2016 WFTDA International Championships, and look forward to their first round bye in the tournament. Championship tournament brackets, including match-ups and times, will be announced live on September 25th at 5:30pm PST on WFTDA.tv, following the final game of WFTDA Playoffs.
In this past weekend’s WFTDA tournament, Rose City proved their ranking by handily beating Columbia QuadSquad 439 to 67 in the first round. In the second round, Rose City had a harder-than-expected victory over Atlanta Rollergirls, ending with a 206 to 133 score. In the final round, Rose City came out with renewed intensity, besting Denver Roller Derby 270 to 191, and beating the predicted margins by 15%.
