5/17 – Rose Petals: Intro To Derby Day! (Ages 7-12)
Have you or a young person you know been dreaming of strapping on skates, joining a fun and supportive community and learning new skills?
Join us for a special Intro-to-Derby evening to give skating a try and learn more!
During this 2-hour event, aspiring skaters aged 7-12 will be get to learn some basic derby skills with help of our awesome, friendly coaches. If you’re interested in joining Rose City Rollers as a member, we’ll be hosting an online orientation for parents the following evening (May 18th).

*Please note this is open to mixed ages of 7-12 year olds. All skaters must be fully vaccinated to attend.
When: Tuesday May 17th, 4:00 to 6:00pm

How much: $50
What you’ll need:
- Skates, Pads, Helmet – Don’t have your own? No sweat! Our gear lending library has you covered and loaners are included in your reservation for the program – just make sure to fill out your gear section of the registration. Have your own? Even better! You’ll need a low boot (like the ones pictured above. High boot or in-line skates won’t work. Helmet should be rated for multi-impact. A bike helmet is not suitable for derby.
- Mouthguard – Mouthguards are required. You can bring your own or we offer a non-moldable kind for $5 add-on charge.
- Water bottle – hydrate, hydrate, hydrate.
- Snacks – bring a small snack that will help give you energy. Protein bars are great.
