Advanced Camp (ages 12-17) w/ Wheels of Justice

Join the Rose City Rollers on the track for a week of

Junior Roller Derby Summer Camp!

Advanced Camp is a one-of-a-kind opportunity for experienced youth skaters to train alongside the athletes of the Wheels of Justice, Portland and Rose City Rollers’ internationally recognized all-star team and reigning 5-time WFTDA World Champions. Designed for current roller derby players with bout or scrimmage experience, this week delivers high-level coaching, competitive drills, strategy sessions, and direct mentorship from some of the sport’s most accomplished athletes. In addition to on-skates training, campers will participate in off-skates activities, team-building exercises, and strategy sessions designed to deepen their understanding of the sport. Whether your skater is preparing for their next season, looking to level up their competitive game, or dreaming of one day skating at the highest levels of roller derby with Rose City Rollers, this camp offers an unforgettable opportunity to learn from the very best.

Throughout the week, campers will:

  • Learn advanced blocking, jamming, and gameplay strategy
  • Build speed, agility, edge control, and track awareness
  • Participate in small-group skills clinics and scenario-based drills
  • Receive individualized feedback from elite-level skaters
  • Develop confidence and leadership both on and off the track
  • Experience the training methods used by world-class competitors

What you’ll bring:

  • Skates, Pads, Helmet - Don’t have your own? No sweat! Our gear lending library has you covered and loaners are included in your reservation for the program – just make sure to fill out your gear section of the registration. Have your own? Even better! You’ll need a low boot. High boot or in-line skates won’t work. Helmet should be rated for multi-impact. A bike helmet is not suitable for derby.
  • Mouthguard - Sisu is our preferred brand because it can be remolded, you can purchase one online or at Five Stride Skate Shop. We also offer the non-moldable kind for free. We highly recommend the moldable Sisu over the non-moldable, especially for skaters with braces or sensory sensitivities.
  • Water bottle - hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. There’s no A/C in the Hangar, so prepare your skater accordingly.
  • Lunch – Please send your skater to camp with a packed lunch.

What we’ll provide:

  • Gear – We will provide all necessary gear if needed.
  • Snacks - We’ll make sure the skaters are fed and having fun.

Cancellation policy: We will provide a full refund (minus the 2% fee from the processor) if registration is cancelled by July 13th, 2026. No refunds past that date. Please email summercamp@rosecityrollers.com to cancel your registration.
